The Edendale Vintage Machinery Club Crank-Up Day has been cancelled for 2022.
Crank-Up president Sharon Caughey yesterday said the majority of the committee voted at a recent meeting "to pull the pin" due to the Covid-19 situation.
"Everyone’s health and safety was at the forefront of our members’ decision," she said.
Rather than holding the event later in the year, it was decided they would wait until 2023 edition, which would have the same features which were planned for next year.
While registrations had been sent for the event which was to be held on January 29 and 30, she had received few replies as there had been trepidation from stallholders, unsure of whether the event would go ahead or not.
It was the first time Crank Up had been canned in its 35 years, she said.
"It just seems to be a sign of the times."
