An Otago Regional Rescue Helicopter, as well as police and St John attended the crash.
Police were called to the crash in Woodstock Rd, Mabel Bush, about 4.45pm, a spokeswoman said.
The truck and trailer unit appeared to have rolled after hitting a bank.
The serious crash unit was also notified.
No further details were available last night.
