The club was recently given $2000 by the Wanaka Masons to run free gymnastics classes for Mt Aspiring College students enrolled in M!NT Charitable Trust sessions.
Wanaka Community Workshop has also improved the inclusiveness of the club by donating three access ramps made by club members so wheelchair users could access Aspiring Gym equipment with their children.
Aspiring Gym director Rae Paterson said she was grateful for the support and wanted to thank all the people involved in presenting the gifts.
M!NT is a charitable organisation that supports people with intellectual disabilities to live their best lives and Aspiring Gymsports has been catering for members since 2018.
"We have always struggled for funds to support the M!NT students. Mark Ebbins, a member of the lodge, was delighted to join a class and meet members of the HQ class [special needs hub] from Mt Aspiring College, M!NT, Holy Family and Wanaka Primary.
"Participation has helped develop creative physical skills, self confidence, increasing verbal skills and development of strength and co-ordination," she said.
The wheelchair ramps had been presented by workshop member Allan Harvey and were helping local dad and snow sports Paralympian Carey Peters join his daughter in her Mini Muscles classes.
"I’m really thankful for all the work and effort Aspiring Gymsports and the Wanaka Community Workshop have put in to have these access ramps built, allowing me to participate in the Mini Muscles programme with my daughter. It’s been really amazing to watch and be part of her development."
