The Invercargill Toy Library is known as a place where families can go to rent toys for an affordable price.
But on Sunday, they will also be able to buy some of the items at its Jumble Sale.
From dinosaurs to diggers — about 17 stalls of preloved toys and clothes will be available to buy at the Gladstone Scout Hall in Russell St.
A gold coin entry at the door and other proceeds will go towards running costs of the toy library.
Toy library committee member Natalie Findlay said the library was a sustainable way to provide toys for children based on their age and development stage.
"Quite often they grow out of things quite quickly.
"Three months go by and you’re like, what do I do with this thing now.
"So it’s a place where you can come and you can get your toy for two weeks and then you can extend it to a month if you’re loving it."
She said toys could be very costly and the toy library provided an alternative to having to buy new toys all the time.
"You want to invest in things that are going to be long term and this place has long-term things, but it also has big toys that you can’t afford like tricycles or big soft toys."
Mrs Findlay said the toy library encouraged children to develop through play by providing them with the right toys.
"I’m a strong believer in play learning and being able to provide the right kind of equipment to help my son develop is really important to me."
She said it was like Christmas for her son every time they went to the toy library and parents would be able to find a bargain for their children at this weekend’s sale.
