But winning her 15th title will pale in significance compared to the feat she achieved when she won her fifth title and gold star in 2001.
That title was important for her family because she and her late mother became the first mother and daughter combination to win a Bowls Dunedin gold star.
Her mother, Phyllis Reynolds, won her first centre title in the Tainui fours team in 1962.
Rance gained her fifth title and gold star in the champion of champions pairs in 1990.
"Mum was alive at the time and we were both very proud," Rance (64), a retired office worker, said.
"It was a wonderful milestone. Mum was a hard act to follow. She was a gracious lady on the green and popular with all Dunedin bowlers."
Rance and her mother played for different clubs, but were able to play together in a few winter tournaments at the Westpac Bowls Stadium.
Roy Reynolds, her father, also played for the Tainui club and won one centre title.
Rance was a keen sportswoman in her youth and played junior tennis for Otago and for the Otago B hockey team.
Rance started playing indoor bowls (small bowls) in 1986 and has also won her Otago gold star in that sport as well.
She has represented the South Island and was skip of the New Zealand Academy team four years ago.
She started playing bowls in 1992, but has been able to play more bowls since retiring 10 years ago.
"I lost two sisters with melanoma at that time and decided that there was more to life than just working," Rance said.
"I am able to spend more time with my grandchildren now."
Rance won her 10th centre title and a bar to her gold star in 2004.
She has performed with credit at the New Zealand championships and was runner-up in Mata McEwan's fours team at Christchurch in 2004 and was third in Sharon Sims four at Dunedin in 2007.
Rance, an accurate draw bowler who plays only the occasional drive or upshot, has achieved all her major goals but still intends to remain competitive.
The other Dunedin mother and daughter combination with a chance of reaching a similar milestone are Tasma Burton (Port Chalmers) who has won four titles and her daughter, Beth Brown (Taieri).
