The South Island indoor bowls team has had a mixed start to its North Island tour, as it fine-tunes its performances for its clash with the North Island squad this weekend.
It began its tour last Friday with a hard-fought win against North Wellington, 29-19.
After winning six games in the first round, the city team stormed back to win six games in the second round but the southerners sealed the win with six wins out of eight in the last round of play.
But the news turned sour the next day, when it suffered two losses against a combined Horowhenua-Hutt Valley side 21-27 and Upper Hutt Valley 19-29.
The team continues its tour this week with matches against Hawkes Bay-Poverty Bay, Bay of Plenty, Wanganui and Manawatu before the the annual inter-island match for the Kevin Eddy Memorial Trophy in Lower Hutt this Saturday.
