The Kaitangata Kings beat the Milton King Crabs by seven wickets in their Waitangi Day match in the South Otago 40-over competition.
Milton posted 128 all out in the 31st over after electing to bat.
Left-hander Simon Scott led the Crabs with an entertaining 38, joining son Ned in a 45-run partnership to anchor the innings.
Brendon Stanton added 29, while Kai captain Kobe Thomson had the excellent figures of three for 16 from seven overs.
Corey Bradley, who was joined by son Cooper to make a second father-son combination in the Milton team, removed in-form Kai opener Orry Young for a duck.
That gave the Crabs hope but it was quickly dashed by William Casey.
Casey was rarely troubled as he finished unbeaten on 58, while Jason Young sealed victory with a four and a six to finish unbeaten on 19 for the Kings.
Ned Scott claimed his first premier wicket for Milton.
The Owaka Bandits beat the Waihola Swans by eight wickets to retain the coveted Bungard Cleats.
Waihola were asked to bat and recorded a solid 164 for nine wickets from their 40 overs.
Shannon Young played the key hand with 59, adding 76 runs in partnership with Kellan Crowie (31).
Owaka captain Quentin Gare picked up three for 24 off eight overs.
In reply, Owaka opening batters Jeremy Gray and Gordon Edwards showed their class.
They put on 117 for the first wicket in a partnership that lasted 27 overs.
Edwards led the way with 88 and Gray notched up his 43rd half-century before falling for 54, the Bandits reaching the target with four overs to spare.
The Valley Stingers beat the Clutha Comets by seven wickets at Tuapeka Mouth.
Clutha elected to bat but could managed only 89 from 29.1 overs.
Opening batter Macleod Glaister top-scored with 22, while Sam Leslie led the charge for the Stingers with three for 15 from eight overs.
In reply, the Stingers chased the total down in the 13th over, Alfie Omelvena top-scoring with an unbeaten 37.
