Rain expected to disrupt first test

Rain is forecast to disrupt play on the opening day of the first test between the Black Caps and Pakistan in Christchurch.

According to Weatherwatch.co.nz, there is a 100% change of rain today in Christchurch. It doesn't look any better for day two of the test at Hagley Oval with the odds of rain dropping to 70%. The last three days are shaping up as fine and sunny.

The pitch looks a seamer's delight, green and grassy. Meaning whoever wins the toss will be very tempted to bowl first.

The test is set to get underway at 11am.

It's been 31 years since New Zealand last beat Pakistan in a test series. They chase their sixth win in 30 clashes on home soil this week before heading to the second test in Hamilton.
