The £38 million City is widely reported to have paid Atletico Madrid for the 23-year-old Aguero makes him one of the most expensive signings in British football.
Spain striker Fernando Torres moved from Liverpool to Chelsea for £50 million in January, while City is reported to have paid Tevez's advisers as much as £47 million to sign the former Manchester United striker in 2009.
Tevez has reiterated his desire to leave Eastlands to be nearer his wife and children in Argentina, but Aguero believes he will quickly settle in the north of England.
"I don't think I'll have too many problems," he told City's website. "I'm sure I'm going to enjoy myself here and life will be fine."
City will play in the Champions League this season for the first time after finishing third in the Premier League. The team also won the FA Cup - the club's first piece of major silverware since 1976.
Aguero, one of European football's most sought-after players after scoring 74 goals in 175 games for Atletico, said he was joining "one of the biggest teams in England."
"I think we are a team that in the future will be fighting every year to win major trophies and let's hope that it's quite a few major trophies," said Aguero, who could make his debut for City in this weekend's Dublin Super Cup tournament that also involves Celtic and Inter Milan.
As well as an eye for goal, Aguero, who scored three goals in four matches for Argentina in the recent Copa America, brings some of the attributes that have made Tevez a crowd favorite at City.
"My style has always been fight to the death for every ball, and give 100 percent in every game," Aguero said. "Be focused to the maximum in everything I do - movement, running off the ball, winning the ball back and scoring goals.
"I'm not a player who can do everything but I still have plenty to offer."
Aguero is City's third acquisition this offseason, after centre back Stefan Savic from Partizan Belgrade and France left back Gael Clichy from Arsenal.
He bolsters a strikeforce that also includes Italy forward Mario Balotelli and Bosnia international Edin Dzeko, who were bought for a combined reported fee of £50 million in the last 12 months.
