Chisholm Park retained its second place and North Otago leapt into third place after the teams drew 3-3 at Chisholm Park on Saturday.
Otago B was to host the leading St Clair team but this contest was postponed until next Sunday, as the Balmacewen course was closed on Saturday.
This means that both St Clair and Otago B will each play two rounds next weekend, in crucial matches with the semifinal places looming.
In the battle of the No 1 players, North Otago green keeper Gary Creedy posted a win for his team, beating Kyle Geary 2 and 1.
Mark Collie made it 1-1, beating North's No 2 Michael Ormandy in 15 holes.
Sean Geary beat Oamaru junior Cameron Ryder on the final green while Paul Velenski (North Otago) made it two apiece, downing Matthew Heaton 3 and 1.
Park No 6 Peter Rae looked every bit a winner at four up with five holes to play but Oamaru's Gary Watling had other ideas.
Watling won three holes in a row to reduce the margin to one but Rae stemmed the tide, winning the penultimate hole to give Park three games in.
The outcome came down to the final hole between North Otago junior Kris Rush and Park's Lyndon Chalmers.
Rush was faced with the unenviable task of holing a 3m putt for a birdie 3 on the final green to beat Chalmers one up and square the contest.
The North Otago players leapt for joy when Rush sank the putt to secure the half.
On Saturday, Otago A plays St Clair at Balmacewen, while North Otago hosts Otago B, at Oamaru.
Otago B will play St Clair at Balmacewen on Sunday and next weekend's results will be crucial, with all but St Clair fighting for semifinal berths.
