Aluesi had the round of the tournament, a 2-under-par 68, to finish with a gross score of 141 and win by a stroke from Luke Murdoch (Otago).
Cromwell golfer Inia Logan and the ageless Alan Rose were a shot further back at third equal, Hamish Ireland (Wanaka) was fifth on 144, and Phil Bungard (St Clair) and Tom Lee (Otago) were tied for sixth on 145.
Aluesi had opened with a 3-over 73 to be in a tie for fifth after the opening round.
The early leaders were Murdoch and Rose, who each fired an even-par 70.
Ryan Shuttleworth (71) and Paul McEwan (72) were in the hunt, and Jacob Bellamy, Callum Judkins and Duncan Croudis were all with Aluesi on 73.
Aluesi found his best form on the second 18, and only Logan, with a 1-under-par 69, was able to break 70.
It was a big jump in form for Aluesi, who had finished 21st at the Chisholm Links Open the previous week.
Logan won the Chisholm tournament by two shots.
Christopher Young (Cromwell) won the division two title at Wanaka, finishing with a smart 71 for a gross score of 151, and Mark Tucker (Wanaka) was the division three champion with a 159.
The next event on the Otago Order of Merit is the Lakes District Championship at the Arrowtown club on October 1.
