Kiwi Scott Dixon has won this morning's IndyCars race at Road America in Wisconsin to extend his championship lead.

Starting fifth on the grid behind the four Penske cars - Dixon showcased his race craft in a dominant display, that included some brilliant passing manouevres to storm to his first victory of the season.

The 36-year-old pulled clear of the field with seven laps to go, finishing ahead of Josef Newgarden and Helio Castroneves, to take his first win at the circuit, his first win of the 2017 season and 41st career victory.

The next stop on the IndyCar circuit is in Iowa.
