The 20-year-old defender has done little wrong for the Southern Steel over the past two years.
In fact she has proven a very good pick-up.
But four does not go into three.
She was the casualty as the Southern Steel unveiled its defenders for next year's ANZ Premiership yesterday.
North Otago product Taneisha Fifita joins this year's starting duo Te Huinga Reo Selby-Rickit and Abby Erwood in the side.
Fifita has been a training partner with the side the past two seasons and impressed in her five premiership appearances.
She is completing her last year at Waitaki Girls' High School.
Co-captain Selby-Rickit returns after another outstanding season, her experience and intelligence irreplaceable.
Meanwhile Erwood also returns, having lifted her game considerably in the past year.
She reclaimed her starting bib after losing it to Elliott the year before, while being named most improved player and won the team's medal of honour.
That leaves Elliott on the outer, having played 29 games for the franchise.
She joined the Steel as a last minute injury replacement from the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Beko League team in 2018.
By the halfway point of the season she had won a starting spot after impressing at every opportunity.
She held that and helped the side in its comeback victory in the final over the Central Pulse.
This year she appeared in the majority of the side's games, although mostly off the bench.
