The Northern Mystics have signed former Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic defender Jodi Tod-Elliott for next season.
Tod-Elliott will join former team-mates Laura Langman and Nadia Loveday in the new-look Northern Mystics side who finished last this year.
With Mystics defender Kayla Cullen nursing an ACL injury, Tod-Elliott will play a crucial role in the defensive end.
Mystics coach Debbie Fuller said: "We need to have competition experience to add to the defence end. With four years ANZ Championship playing under her belt, Jodi has a high work ethic and skill level, she also understands the nature of competing at that high level week in and out."
The Mystics have Cullen and Bailey Mes on their roster for next year but both will spend time recovering from serious knee injuries and the Auckland-based franchise will likely add a few more players in the near future.
2014 Northern Mystics to date: Anna Harrison, Maria Tutaia, Kayla Cullen, Laura Langman, Bailey Mes, Erikana Pedersen, Elisapeta Toeava, Nadia Loveday, Jodi-Tod Elliott.
