St Hilda’s Collegiate are the only South Island team in the top eight at the New Zealand secondary schools championships in Porirua.
St Hilda’s yesterday had a gutsy 31-30 loss to Westlake Girls’, who were fourth last year. They were playing the first of their three second-round games last night, and have two more games today, after which they will know which final placing game they play in tomorrow.
