It was a chilly start to the day for a bunch of keen Masters Games athletes competing in the open water swim yesterday morning.

Swimmers battled the conditions in the Otago Harbour, near Vauxhall Yacht Club, for the 1500m and 3000m events, including national women’s champion Ruby Heath, of Dunedin.

Aquatic events are popular at the Masters Games this year.

The diving had good numbers at Moana Pool on Saturday and three days of swimming at Moana Pool will start on Wednesday and finish on Friday.
