In other matches yesterday, top seed Ben Shelton, of the United States, downed Hungarian Fabian  Marozasan 6-3, 6-4; Aljandro Tabilo, of Chile, beat Dutch player Botic van de Zandschulp 7-5, 6-3; sixth seed Arthur  Fils, of France, downed Nuno Borges, of Portugal, 6-2, 6-0; Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena defeated seventh seed Sebastian Ofner, of Austria, 7-5, 6-3; and Taro Daniel, of Japan, beat eighth seed Max Purcell, of Australia,  6-2, 6-4.
