Remember this name: Chloe Kim.

The next big thing in snowboarding, a 14-year-old from the United States, soared to halfpipe victory at the third annual Burton High Fives event at Cardrona at the weekend.

She and fellow Burton rider Yiwei Zhang (China) produced world-class performances through variable weather conditions to finish on top of the women's and men's standings respectively.

Kim shot straight into first place after her first run, setting the bar high with a massive backside air into a frontside 540, McTwist, and a corked frontside 720 before finishing with a corked cab 720, to earn a score of 92.60.

China's Xuetong Cai landed her last run with 86.40 to put her in second place, and Hikaru Ooe (Japan) claimed third place with 85.40.

''I'm really happy about how everything turned out,'' Kim said.

''When we came up here this morning the weather was windy and snowy, but turned out to be really good.''

The unpredictable weather did not deter the men's field, either.

Zhang dominated with amplitude, technicality and style on his first run, which included a frontside 1080, cab double cork 1080, double cork 900, corked backside 540 and, finally, a frontside double cork 1080, which earned him 91.00.

It marked the first time a male Chinese rider had finished first in any international snowboarding competition.

Seamus O'Connor (Ireland) was second with 90.60, and Nathan Johnstone (Australia) finished third with 88.60.
