Better To Be Bad continued her preparation for a race at Forbury Park on Friday night with success at trials on the track yesterday.

Better To Be Bad is fashioning a fine record for Steve Ashton, her Portobello trainer, who holds her in high regard.

The Badlands Hanover 4yr-old recorded her fourth win from her last seven starts when she beat Devil May Care at Gore 10 days ago.

She has also recorded three seconds in her 10 starts for Mosgiel breeder Gavin Chin and Miles Notman, who race her with Ashton.

"She is still learning but from what she has shown me she should end up a very handy pacer," Ashton said.

The race at Forbury Park is a 2-3win 2700m (mobile).

Paramount Geegee and Flying Isa, the John Dickie-trained stablemates who won their respective divisions of the Harness Jewels at Ashburton last year, will not be on hand for the series at Cambridge next month.

• Paramount Geegee injured a fetlock in the Anzac Trotting Cup at Alexandra Park 11 days ago and is likely to be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

The 4yr-old struck himself on the bottom of the fetlock of his off fore leg.

The injury required stitching.

His 3yr-old stablemate Flying Isa is also sidelined with problems in his knees and hocks.

• Classiesistar and Davy Lindenny won in fast time at the Rangiora trials yesterday.

The 2yr-olds dead-heated over 2000m (mobile) in a 2.00.7 mile rate, the final 800m in 57.4.

Gaylee's Delight was impressive in a 200.2 rate, the last 800m in 56.5 over the same distance.
