Faulks steered Ngaire Margaret to her second career win last night but he was upstaged by his daughter Georgia (10), who drove her pony, Power Of Hope, to two wins in the Kidz Kartz races to remain unbeaten in four drives.
''She gets the gloating rights when we get home,'' Faulks laughed.
Ngaire Margaret had been away from the races for 17 months after having three starts for Faulks, following 16 starts for other trainers.
''She's always had a bit of ability,'' Faulks said.''
She was going good last time and then she kicked a rail and broke a wee splint bone in her hind leg. That's why she's been off for so long.''
The Sundon mare was still proving troublesome for Faulks leading in to the race.
''She's galloped a couple of times [at the trials] - just different things.''
She's been hitting herself and been putting herself off balance.
''She wanted to run out a wee bit down the straight. She was getting tired enough, too, because it's been a while.
Faulks is confident of getting another win or two out of the 7yr-old.
''She works pretty good at home and she's got a fair bit of high speed.''
Last night proved a good night for Otago-trained trotters as Eltsunami finally put together a complete performance to break maidens in the opening event.
The 4yr-old pacing-bred trotter has provided Mosgiel trainer Darryn Simpson with a few problems, as he has struggled to stay in his gait throughout a race.
''He's always had the ability. It was just his manners [that hindered him],'' Simpson said.
''I think working in here [at Forbury Park] all the time has helped. We put the half-hopples on and he's just turned the corner again.''
The Elsu gelding came to Simpson from Burnham trainer Mark Jones in March this year.
Simpson added a second winner on the night when Mimi Surarti, a recent arrival to his barn from Fernside trainer Ian Cameron, won the 2700m c1 pace.
Starsky's Dream won on debut for Westwood Beach trainer Graeme Anderson.
The Mach Three gelding is the fourth foal out of Falcon Seelster mare Clifton Joan for Mosgiel breeder Noel Bennett and had been working well.
''I came home from the beach three weeks ago and said to [partner] Wendy [Muldrew] `we've got a nice horse here','' Anderson said.
While most of Bennett's horses are named with the Clifton prefix, his brother-in-law, Anthony Ware, provided the inspiration for Starsky's Dream.
Ware, a Dunedin taxi driver who goes by the nickname Starsky, had been nagging Bennett to give a horse the Starsky moniker.
''I finally persuaded him to name one after me,'' Ware said.
Race re-run
The seventh race last night was re-run after The Burning Question's leg caught in the sulky stays of Montecrengle and he fell, leaving the home straight for the first time.
The Burning Question was a late scratching from the re-run race, which was won by favourite For The Ladies.
An investigation by the stipendiary stewards found that Montecrengle hung in, closing up the space available for The Burning Question.
Better Than Money was claimed for $9000 out of the same event by Ryal Bush trainer Nathan Williamson.
