Waikouaiti trainer Andrew Faulks will bid farewell to Falcon Ruler shortly, after the Falcon Seelster entire won his fourth race from seven starts at Forbury Park on Thursday night.

Faulks was starting to map out a country cups campaign for the 4yr-old until he received a call from owner Greg Brodie, of Courage Under Fire fame, before the race. Falcon Ruler will join the Menangle stable of Peter Walsh soon to continue his racing career.

Faulks, who trained Falcon Ruler for all four wins, was philosophical about losing the talented pacer to Australia.

''We sold it to him a while ago, so we can't complain.''

Logic to name
Crackapaca's name makes so much more sense when Ashburton part-owner Russell Nelson explains the link between himself, wife Carolyn and fellow owners Alan and Carolyn Jinks, of Geelong in Australia.

The Nelsons and the Jinks both breed alpacas which gave Nelson the idea for the name of the 4yr-old mare who led most of the way to win the 1700m fillies' and mares' mobile pace at Forbury Park on Thursday night.

Nelson is also looking forward to the return of Crackaheiny which the Nelsons bred out of their Christian Cullen mare Seetuit. The 4yr-old has won two of his seven starts for Canterbury trainer Robert Dunn.

Edges smash Dunedin
Delightful Song's connections are taking apart Carisbrook but the mare was doing some dismantling of her own at Forbury Park on Thursday night.

The 6yr-old mare is raced by Weedons trainer Neil Edge and his brother Alan, the owner of Christchurch-based company Southern Demolition.

The company has been busy at Carisbrook over the last few weeks removing all signs of the famed Dunedin sports ground.

The daughter of Bettor's Delight enjoys racing at Forbury Park, winning three of her seven starts at the Dunedin track, but Neil Edge was surprised by her win in 2.42.9 in the feature pace.''

She wasn't ready tonight - I was aiming her at Winton next week. This was just supposed to be a run for her.''

Delightful Song was driven by Ricky May after her regular driver, Kirstin Barclay, was suspended for four days for careless driving at Gore on Sunday. Barclay is able to drive again on September 21.
