Racing: Heyzeal logical choice

Heyzeal, the winner of four of her seven starts and placed in two others, is back in action at Forbury Park tonight, with a change of trainer and ownership.

Heyzeal (race five) is now trained by Phil Williamson at Oamaru for a Melbourne syndicate.

The mare was previously prepared by part-owner Billy Heads, of Waimumu.

Nathan Williamson, who has driven Heyzeal in all her races, has retained the drive.

Heyzeal has not raced since she finished fifth at Addington in November.

She won at the New Zealand Cup meeting following wins at Gore and Forbury Park (twice).

Heyzeal was in the care of Williamson for her Addington win.

She was spelled for a month after her last start and indicated she had come to hand well with a trial win at Oamaru last week.

"This is the beginning of her preparation for the Harness Jewels. She will then go to Australia," Phil Williamson said.

The stable has the 3yr-old trotter The Tower (race 1) having his first start tonight.

The Tower qualified at Oamaru in October when he finished half a length second to his stablemate Doctor Jock.

The latter has since won two races and placed in three of his other five starts.

The Tower is headed to the Yearling Sales Trot at Addington tomorrow week.

He is a brother to Sovereignty (11 wins) and La Femme D'Argent (six wins).

• Chilli, winner of the Hororata Cup at Addington last Friday, has the Invercargill Cup on Saturday week next on his agenda.

The Nigel McGrath-trained Chilli, winner of 10 races, is under offer to the United States.

McGrath has the 3yr-old trotter Jarvsofaks (race 1) and Limited Edition (Sires' Stakes heat) at Forbury Park tonight.

Both youngsters are having their first starts.

Jarvsofaks, a Dream Vacation gelding, has won trials at Addington and Ashburton.

Mark Jones has the drive with McGrath in Cambridge supervising his team for the Auckland meeting tomorrow night.

He said his 2yr-old Anvils Best Ever was improved with his race last Friday when he finished fourth as favourite.

Limited Edition won a trial at Ashburton in December and he has subsequently been placed.

Blair Orange, not Brent Barclay, has the drive on Franco Coolie in race 9 tonight.

Xterminate, who was unplaced at Ashburton yesterday, has been scratched from race 10.

Aleana (race 5) has transferred to Jason Lethaby from Michelle Wallis.

Elise Hest (race 1) is now trained by Darryn Simpson.

Zandara is back in the Oxford stable of Joanne Burrows.

The mare has won twice this season for Billy Heads.
