Racing: NSW entry at Alexandra Park

The former American pacer Genuwine has drawn the outside of the front line (7) in the seven-horse field for the $100,000 Taylor Mile at Alexandra Park on Friday night.

The Cam's Card Shark-Beverage entire is trained at Sawyers Gully in New South Wales by Adam Ruggari.

The 4yr-old has raced 34 times for 10 wins and 11 placings for $284,154 in stakes.

He took a record of 1.50.4 as a 2yr-old in America.

Genuwine is owned by Brisbane billionaire mining magnate Clive Palmer, who operates Cold Mountain Stud, at Moore.

Genuwine has had two starts in Australia for a second and a last-start win last Friday.

The only Australian horse to win the Taylor Mile since its inception in 1986 is the Pheasant's Nest (NSW) pacer Divisive who won in 2007 for trainer-driver Peter Rixon.

Auckland Reactor, who is having his first race since failing in the Interdominion Final, has drawn six in the group one feature.

Memphis Melody (by Badlands Hanover), the race-winning dam of Harley Earl, is a daughter of O K Deb (7 wins) and a grand-daughter of 1998-99 NZ Broodmare of the Year Deborah Dundee, the grand dam of Courage Under Fire.

Monkey King has done well since his Easter Cup win and has the $50,000 Rangiora Classic (stand) on May 3 as his next start.

He is off 25m.
