O'Cartier, who has been freshened since he was unplaced at Ellerslie on May 29, was successful at the Rangiora trials yesterday.
O'Cartier has recorded 13 wins and 16 placings from 49 starts for stakes of $333,722.
Trainers John and Karen Parsons won a 2yr-old trial yesterday with Eyes On The Star, a filly by Postponed from Stars In Your Eyes, the winner of five races in the mid-1990s from the Parsons stable.
The Parsons also won another 2yr-old heat with Final Touch.
Woodlea Cosmos was disqualified from fourth in race 2 at Addington yesterday.
Driver Shane Walkinshaw was fined $200 for allowing the horse to start from barrier two on the second row instead of one.
Artzone was promoted to fourth.
Dexter Dunn stood down from driving after race 2 when feeling unwell.
