Talent to burn

Ryal Bush pacer Vin Scully will aim to hit another home run at Wyndham tomorrow.

The 3yr-old, who is named after a former American baseball sportscaster, showed he was a heavy hitter with a crushing debut win on the track last month, despite sitting parked the entire race on a solid 2.56.8 pace.

‘‘He has always been a nice wee horse but that was a real bonus run,’’ trainer Hamish Hunter said of the powerful performance.

That success ensured a place in race 8 today, the pacers’ graduation final (2400m).

Vin Scully will be driven by Brad Williamson who will not necessarily have to land the horse handy to the speed as he did in his last start.

The graduation final features eight last-start winners, many of whom ran impressively.

Raksbet was one of those. The Clark Barron-trained filly scored in a 1.56.6 mile in her last start on the track.
