The annual mainland interprovincial regatta starts this morning and will end tomorrow afternoon.
Bryce Abernethy, a member of the New Zealand under-23 rowing squad, headlines Otago's group and will compete in the open men's double with Andrew Potter.
Tom Clyma and Hugo Elworthy will compete in the open men's pairs before combining with Abernethy and Potter in the coxless four.
Under-20 rowers Sean Ducray, Josh Hayes, Philip Wilson, Oli Tyro and coxswain Sachin Arulambalam will come in and help form an eight.
Another group of talented under-20 scullers will also hit the water this morning, including last year's schoolboy rower of the year, Riley Bruce, and North End's Corey Lewis.
Bruce and Lewis will row in the single before Bruce jumps in the double with Charlie Wallis.
Lewis will compete in the second Otago double with Bradley Leydon, while all four will combine in the quad.
Oamaru's Sydney Telfer, who won best crew with Maysie Scott at last season's Otago rowing awards, will form a strong under-20 coxless four and coxless quad with Hayley Kettings, Lili Sabonadiere and Emma Henderson.
Last year's Otago schoolgirl rower of the year, Macaela Turfus, of Dunstan, will line up in the under-20 single and double with Sydney Cook, and should push for a spot on the podium.
An R2K concept singles regatta is also being held on Lake Ruataniwha today.
It marks the end of a four-month winter development programme, including erging, boxing, spin classes, resistance training and nutrition and mental skills, in which 22 Dunedin rowers participated.
