Despite an error-ridden performance in Christchurch last night, Canterbury managed to eke out a 29-24 victory over Auckland in the first NPC quarterfinal.

The win came at a cost, however, with Canterbury playmaker Fergus Burke suffering a serious leg injury 10 minutes into the game which required him to be carried to the sideline.
