Rugby: Otago Boys' remain dominant

Otago Boys' continued its domination of the Highlanders First XV rugby competition when it beat Mt Aspiring College 71-0 in Dunedin today.

The Otago Boys' pack was dominant and paved the way for an 11 try drubbing of Mt Aspiring.

The front row of Jonah Aoina ,Alex Frood and Sione Asi was dominant with Asi using his strength to score two tries. Captain Sio Tomkinson kicked eight conversions.

A try by prop Nathan Schaaf five minutes from full time gave John McGlashan a narrow 17-16 win over St Kevin's at Oamaru. First five-eighth Thomas Johnson kicked four penalty goals.

Waitaki Boys' scored four tries to beat Menzies College 20-12 .

In the bottom section Dunstan had a comfortable 38-26 win over Gore and South Otago romped home with a 45-14 win over St Peters.


Top 8: John McGlashan 17 St Kevin's 16, Waitaki Boys 20 Menzies 12, Otago Boys 71 Mr Aspiring 0; Southland Boys 24 Kings 0.
