Brad Thorn helped Taieri get their campaign back on track today, the veteran lock turning in a solid showing in the Eels' 43-18 win over Kaikorai at Peter Johnstone Park.
Thorn's Highlanders team-mate Hayden Parker also donned the Taieri strip and scored a fine individual try in a game played in front of a large crowd estimated at between 3000-4000.
Thorn, who was born in Mosgiel and spent his first years in the Taieri area, received an ovation when he was subbed off with about 15 minutes to go.
The win was a welcome return to form for Taieri after they lost their previous two matches in the Dunedin Premier competition.
In other games, Dunedin beat University A 30-26, Alhambra-Union accounted for Pirates 36-14, Green Island had a 37-30 win over Harbour and Southern trounced Zingari 56-7.
