Two more swimming medals for Otago

Otago competitors have claimed two more medals at the national short-course championships.

Neptune's Molly Law won a silver yesterday and very nearly managed a bronze as well.

Her silver came in the women's 16 years 100m individual medley in which she swam 1min 05.29sec to finish second.

She nearly backed that up with a third in the 50m freestyle, although had to settle for fourth in 26.25sec, 0.03sec outside the medals.

Taieri's Jordan Summers swam 2min 42.17 to claim bronze in the girls 15 years 200m breaststroke.

Caitlin Deans finished fourth in the 17-18 years 100m IM, one place away from her third medal of the event. On Wednesday night she finished fourth in the open final of the 400m freestyle.

She was also part of the Neptune 200m medley relay team that finished fourth. The team, which also included Nicole Heaton, Isabella Gold and Natalie Hutchens, finished in 2min 02.94sec, 0.04sec behind third-placed St Peter's in third.

Zenith's team of Emma and Meg Christophers, Esme Paterson and Charlotte Hewson finished 10th in the same event.
