Christchurch police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a man in the suburb of Avonhead.
Police said the 51-year-old died following an incident involving a vehicle in Bevington St about 5.30pm on Saturday.
"Upon arrival, police located a person with serious injuries who sadly died at the scene."
In a statement on Sunday morning, police said the Serious Crash Unit has finished an examination of the site.
"Inquiries are ongoing and a number of witnesses have already been spoken to.
"However, police would still like to speak with any witnesses who may have not yet come forward."
