Investigation into unexplained death

Police are investigating the circumstances of a death at a Canterbury property on Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to an address on Heyders Rd in Spencerville, north of Christchurch, about 5pm.

A police spokesperson said the death is being treated as unexplained, but initial reports indicate it was related to self-harm. The police investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, police were called to another death related to self-harm in Woolston about 11.14am on Wednesday.

A police spokeswoman said they are not treating the death as suspicious.
