A person awoke in Christchurch in the early hours of this morning to find their car was on fire.
A police spokeswoman said the blaze happened at a property on Ryans Rd, Yaldhurst, between midnight and 1am on Tuesday.
It was extinguished by the vehicle's owner and then reported to police later that morning.
The spokeswoman said police are investigating the incident.
