Westlife to play Wolfbrook Arena

Irish pop group Westlife will return to New Zealand for the first time in 20 years and play Christchurch’s Wolfbrook Arena as part of a 25th anniversary tour next year.

Known for hits including Flying Without Wings and Uptown Girls, the group will play Auckland’s Spark Arena on July 28, and Wolfbrook Arena on July 30, 2027, as part of the Westlife 25: The Anniversary World Tour.

The band members said they are excited to return to Australia and New Zealand after two decades away.

“We can’t believe it’s been 20 years since we last toured in Australia and New Zealand, so it only felt right that we should come back and celebrate our 25th anniversary together."

“We have always loved coming back to this part of the world as the fans have always made our trips so memorable and special – you have the loudest fans in the world!

“The 25th anniversary show will be our most exciting and ambitious to date and, of course, we will be performing all of the hits. Australia and New Zealand – we cannot wait to see you!”

They have just released a new album 25 – The Ultimate Collection to mark their record-breaking 25-year journey to the top of global pop.

General tickets will go on sale May 15, while Mastercard holders and Live Nation members will have access to a presale on May 14.

Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily formed Westlife in 1998 and became one of the biggest boybands of the 2000s.

The group disbanded in 2012 and later reunited in 2018.

They have sold more than 55 million records worldwide and are Britain and Ireland’s top-selling album group of the 21st century.

The tour will see Filan, Byrne and Egan reunited without Feehily, who announced in 2024 he would not continue playing with the band for ongoing health reasons.
