One dead after single-vehicle crash in Southland

    One person has died following a single-vehicle crash in Mataura late last night.

    Police were called to the crash on Oakland St about 10.05pm.

    The sole occupant died at the scene, police said in a statement this afternoon.

    The Serious Crash Unit has examined the scene, and the death will be referred to the Coroner.
