The Hornby High School girls' basketball team finished fourth at their South Island single A tournament and qualified for nationals for the first time alongside their boys' team.
Both teams finished fourth, with the girls making the semifinals before eventually losing the third place playoff to Greymouth High School 71-50 at the Westland Rec Centre.
The Boys suffered the same fate, losing their third place playoff 81-50 to Hillmorton High School at the Westland Rec Centre.
The Hornby High School netball team finished eighth in the C grade at the South Island netball tournament after losing to Rolleston College 34-19 in their final match in Nelson.
