After being cancelled two years in a row due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the popular annual event will be held on Sunday, September 11.
Chairwoman Maria Sleeman said online entries at dunedinmarathon.co.nz would go live tomorrow.
"There's a lot of events on offer from a full marathon right down to a family-friendly 5km.
"So if people do want to participate there is an event for everyone."
After so many cancelled events recently, Ms Sleeman was looking forward to seeing people get excited all over again and reinvigorate their personal running and walking goals.
The organisation had made it easy for people to prepare with a set of detailed schedules that provided day-by-day and week-by-week training goals.
People who had not exercised for some time could ease themselves back into shape by taking part in the 5km run.
If people had "lost their way a bit" in terms of fitness this was a great chance to get back to a regular running routine.
Participants who entered in 2021 and opted to keep their entry for this year’s event would be sent an email with details of a Pin to enter.
The Pin will discount the price of entry to the value of their entry last year.
Participants would still need to register for each event, and if they changed their mind about what events they entered, there might be a difference in charges, but prices had been kept the same from last year, she said.
Ms Sleeman asked participants for a little patience as there might be a slight delay before all entries were processed.
"But yeah, we’re really excited. It is so exciting to get this going."
The 42nd Dunedin Marathon is organised by Caversham Harrier and Athletic Club.
