A rookie with a point to prove and a colleague on the
comeback trail gave New Zealand the stability they sought as
the first cricket test against India continued today.
India snatched two early wickets to leave New Zealand on 69-2
and trailing by 418 runs after the second day of the first
test at Sardar Patel Stadium.
Some niggly injuries have forced Otago coach Mike Hesson to
put off naming his side for its opening Plunket Shield match
against Northern Districts in Queenstown next week.
None of the signs point to
