The latest government data to midnight Wednesday show petrol and jet fuel both down by three days' worth of supply, and diesel up slightly.
There are 56.2 days' worth of petrol, 46.3 of diesel, and 47.7 of jet fuel either in the country or on the way.
That's compared to the previous update: 59 days' worth of petrol, 45.2 of diesel and 50.2 of jet fuel.
The government said fuel stocks remained well above minimum requirements, and within normal ranges.
Last week's increase was due to several large shipments recently embarking for New Zealand. These arrive and stocks are readily used before the next vessels are loaded, which results in a pattern of large increases followed by a period of decline.
Regular shipments are continuing to arrive as expected, and fuel importers have good confidence through confirmed orders to late June.
