The increase was driven by 32 additional international flights. Domestic passenger numbers were up 18.4%, another strong performance, Auckland International Airport, a part owner of Queenstown Airport, said in its latest monthly traffic update.
The figures show that 12,194 international passengers passed through the airport compared with 10,376 in November last year. In the financial year to date, 116,821 passengers had gone through the airport, up nearly 12% on the previous corresponding period.
There were 100 international aircraft movements in November, up 28.2% on November last year. In the financial year to date, there were 916 international movements, up 12%.
Domestically, there were 77,176 passengers, up 18.4%. There were 838 domestic aircraft movements in November, up 8.3% on the previous period, and in the year to date there were 4903 movements, up 13.3%.
International passenger movements through Auckland International Airport were up only 1.9% in November but there was strong growth in November on China, transtasman and Pacific Island routes. China was up 8.4% on November last year.
Domestic numbers were up 12.8%, driven by increased Jetstar capacity on Wellington and Christchurch routes and Air New Zealand's ''Night Rider'' service and stand-by fares.
