The 27-year-old is up for best television drama actress for her role as telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse in the HBO series True Blood.
She is also nominated for best mini-series actress for the television movie The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler, in which she plays a Polish Holocaust heroine.
Paquin received an Academy Award in 1994 for her role in the New Zealand film The Piano.
The 67th annual Golden Globe Awards will take place in Hollywood on January 17.
