'Taonga Maori Store #3'
This week's highlight: All I ask is a tall ship . . . Owaka author Mike McPhee's book Catlins Bound, about his great-grandfather's sailing ships, which were built in the Catlins and Stewart Island, will be launched on Saturday at Owaka Museum from 2pm-5pm.

The book launch is accompanied by Fergus Sutherland's art exhibition opening, the unveiling of a model of the McPhee schooner Owake by Robin Watkins and a CD launch, plus sea shanties performed live by Maritime Crew.

At 7.30pm in the Owaka Community Centre, a fundraising concert for the museum and search and rescue will feature Maritime Crew.


Auction action
The Peninsula Art & Craft Auction is on tonight at Glenfalloch Chalet from 7.30pm, in support of art programmes at Macandrew Bay School.

Works for sale can be viewed from 5pm-6pm.

The auction features work by Peninsula artists including Ewan MacDougall, Janet de Wagt, Pauline Bellamy, Chris Idour, Doug Wiliams and more.
