Production has begun in New Zealand of a new Disney Channel film Avalon High, loosely based on the legends of King Arthur, showbusiness magazine Variety reports.
The film stars Americans Britt Robertson and Gregg Sulkin, and will also feature Auckland actors Andrew Grainger and Alison Bruce, who played key roles in last year's New Zealand telemovie, Life's a Riot.
The Avalon High film is being made over five weeks in Auckland, according to extras agency, Background Talent.
It is based on an award-winning novel by Meg Cabot, who wrote the popular The Princess Diaries. It follows a high school student who discovers her classmates are reincarnations of King Arthur and the people in his court at Camelot.
The film is expected to premiere later this year.
