After five years in the industry and a background in Architectural Design from Otago Polytechnic, I’ve learned that no two kitchens are ever the same. Not because of trends or materials, but because no two households live the same way. The best kitchens are shaped around real life - how you move, cook, gather, and connect in your space every day.
It all begins with a conversation.
When you walk into the showroom, it’s not about being sold a kitchen. It’s about getting to know you - what you’re hoping to achieve, what’s working in your current space, and what’s not. I’m also looking to understand your priorities early on. Are you working to a tight budget, or are you ready to invest in a space where everything is taken care of for you? That honesty from the beginning makes the entire process smoother.
From there, I step into your world - your home.
This is where the real magic happens. I pay attention to the small but important details: the morning rush, who cooks dinner, where people tend to gather. It might sound simple, but these everyday routines are what shape a truly functional kitchen. Before I think about colours or finishes, I focus on how the space needs to work.
Because if the function is right, everything else starts to fall into place.
When I present an initial design, I intentionally keep it calm and clear. I want you to see the space for what it is - how it flows, how it feels - without being distracted by colours or materials just yet. At the same time, I’m already thinking beyond the kitchen itself, considering how it connects to the rest of your home, from flooring through to appliances and structure.
I provide a base estimate early on, so we’re always designing with your budget in mind. Then comes the part most clients love - choosing materials, colours, and textures. We build a mood board together, layering in benchtops, cabinetry, and handles. This is when it starts to feel real. You can see your future kitchen taking shape, and that excitement really builds.
Of course, every project comes back to balance.
Everyone has a budget, and my role is to help you get the most out of it without compromising on quality. I guide you through the decisions so we stay aligned from the start - because when the design and budget work together, the end result is always stronger.
Renovating a kitchen can feel overwhelming, and I don’t think it should.
That’s why I offer a fully coordinated service - managing the joinery, trades, appliances, and installation. It takes the pressure off you and creates a much smoother experience. Yes, it’s an added investment, but for many clients, the peace of mind is worth it.
I understand that process personally. I’m currently renovating my own home, and it’s given me an even deeper appreciation for what my clients go through. The decisions, the waiting, the second guessing - it can be a lot to juggle alongside everyday life. Having that firsthand experience allows me to guide my clients with more empathy and clarity, helping them feel supported from start to finish.
Some people come in knowing exactly what they want. Others are starting from scratch and need time to figure it out. While platforms like Pinterest can spark ideas, they can also make things more confusing. My focus is always on what works for you - your home, your lifestyle, and your budget - not someone else’s.
The process itself is simple.
We start in the showroom, then I visit your home to understand your space properly. I go away and design a kitchen that reflects your needs, and then present it to you as a starting point. From there, we refine it together, select materials, and build a detailed plan. By the time you’re ready to move forward, you’ll feel confident in every decision.
And that’s the goal.
Because at the end of the day, this isn’t just about creating a kitchen that looks good. It’s about designing a space that works beautifully, feels right, and genuinely improves the way you live in your home.
