Fun for the whole family at market

Thanks to our supporters

The Greater Green Island Business Association is proud to host the Green Island Market Day for the community. People from all over Dunedin look forward to this much-anticipated calendar event and we enjoy being able to bring our community together for this day of fun. This year’s Market Day will be held on Saturday, December 5 from 10am to 1pm, on Main South Rd, Green Island. We anticipate close to 100 stalls on display and the weather forecast, although still a way out, looks promising.

Howden St will once again house the stage area, showcasing the talent of our local schools and kindergartens. We will also have a performance from the Chinese Association, a group of local Chinese performing traditional dance. At 12noon we will draw the fundraising raffle put together from our local stores. All proceeds of which are put back into the community.

You can purchase a raffle on Friday night from outside Fresh Choice Green Island, or on the day at the information stall outside the Green Island Post Office and Cafe. The Market Day has something for the whole family. For the kids we have a free bouncy castle for under-5s, face painting, Santa's grotto, and kid-friendly fundraisers from the schools and kindergartens. For the adults, we have a wide range of stalls, such as a variety of crafts, plants and garden accessories, jewellery, toys, clothes, baked goods, preserves and other edibles and much more. The Community Garden and Shed will have their wares on display again on the green space under the spiral staircase. There will be space here to sit on the grass and enjoy the buskers and delicious food from the food vendors.
