Otago Girls' High School student Mikayla Lindsay won the Bernina School Award of Excellence for her "School from the Earth" entry.
The Best Southland Designer Award, the Heather Paterson QSM Memorial Trophy, went to Debbie Smith, of Gore, for her "Open Aotearoa" design.
Vicky Taylor-Blair, of Dunedin, was runner-up in the Open Androgynous Award for this design.
Wakatipu High School student Ivy McKenzie won the Regional Ford School Gala Award for her green tiered evening dress.
Otago Polytechnic School of Fashion student Socrates Catapang won the Van de Water Jewellers Open Androgynous Award for his grey suit look.
The Peroni Open Gala Award for this design went to Viv Tamblyn, of Gore.
Felix Hill, of Otago Polytechnic School of Fashion, was highly commended for this design in the Open Androgynous section.
The Winter Solstice Award went to Gore designer Viv Tamblyn for her warm red ensemble.
Vicki Booth-Elliot, of Roxburgh, won the O'Connor Richmond Narrative Award with her open gala evening dress.
The Gore RSA Young Designer Award went to Otago Polytechnic School of Fashion student Emily Mason for her "open collection" design.
Lucas Jones, of Otago Polytechnic School of Fashion, was highly commended for this collection in the open section.
Otago and Southland designers shone at the MLT Hokonui Fashion Design Awards in Gore at the weekend.

From the glamorous to the quirky and the slick, the designers wowed the judges, designer Natalie Newlands, creative director and stylist Dan Ahwa and founder and creative director of Tuesday Label, Biddie Cooksley.
The winners on the night were Vicki Taylor-Blair and Chris Reeve, of Dunedin, who won the Mataura Licensing Trust Award of Excellence and Hokonui Heritage Precinct Open Avant Garde Award for a design using the inner tubes of bicycle tyres. PHOTO: STILL VISION PHOTOGRAPHY
