Aroma Cafe's date scone

Aroma Cafe's date scone

Makes 12

Ingredients
4 cups standard flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
300g melted butter
3 cups milk
400g soft pitted dates

Method
Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into a bowl.

Add milk and butter, quickly mixing with a table knife into a soft dough

Roll out to form an even block and spread dates across half the dough.

Fold the other half on top and cut into squares.

Bake at 220degC for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
