A person was seriously hurt in a dog attack near Brighton yesterday.
A Hato Hone St John spokesman said it responded to reports of an "animal incident" in Taieri Mouth Rd at Kuri Bush at 10.24am.
The Otago Daily Times understands the incident was a dog attack.
A neighbour said the person who was injured had a "couple of dogs" at their property, and the older of the two "sometimes got a bit carried away".
The two dogs were known to fight each other occasionally, they said.
One person was taken to Dunedin Hospital in a serious condition.
A Dunedin City Council spokesman said the council had not been notified.
