Car driver injured in crash

Two firefighters inspect the scene of a crash between a logging truck and a car at the intersection of State Highway 1 and Great King St in Dunedin yesterday afternoon.

The driver and sole occupant of the car sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Dunedin Hospital.

The logging truck was travelling down Pine Hill Rd (State Highway 1) towards Dunedin about 2.30pm when the crash occurred.

The truck driver, who was shaken but uninjured, demonstrated his brakes were working before he was directed by police to a weigh-station.

One lane south reopened shortly afterwards and both lanes were clear by 4.30pm.
