Child hit by car escapes serious injury

An eight-year-old child was struck by a car in St Kilda yesterday, escaping with a broken nose.

Acting Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said police were called to the crash on Trafalgar St at 4pm.

The child was taken to Dunedin Hospital with a broken nose, Snr Sgt Bond said.

Police investigations were ongoing as to how the crash happened.
